Week in Review | February 24, 2015 Top Ten for "Real Life"

2/24/15

This week was extra special... Pearls and Roses had their first guest judge!
I noticed that my page was starting to spring up, new photographers were flowing in and knew that it was time to start having guest judges now that we had a regular flow of submissions.
Who was our guest judge?

The amazing Crystal, from Crystal Kary Photography!
I was wandering around trying to find a judge, so I was going through MY page to look there as well, I found an image she submitted and it caught my attention, I began going through her page, every photo I saw was a perfect definition of life, no matter how crazy, not matter how quiet she captures both areas so well. I knew that this was the one and I was SO so happy that she accepted! I am so honored to have her on our "Guest Judge for a week" list!! <3

Crystal,
I want you to know that your work inspires others everyday,  your images of your kids and of your everyday life are more than just pictures, they are memories that no one else could see there, only you had the eye for that simple but breathtaking image! But when you share them with others you make a creative spark bloom inside them to make them want to pay attention to the small things instead of the big.     I am very sad to let you go!! But life goes on! ;) Thank you for all you do girl! Loved having you this week! <3

Below are the Top Ten & Weekly Winner! Above each image are some things that Crystal wrote of why she chose your image and why she loved it! Have fun!

Our new theme this week is
{ Black and White }

February is cold, grey and dreary! Thought this the perfect theme. <3

" I really like this one because the cat in the background looks like he/she is trying to plot on stealing the baby’s milk.   "

" How funny is this! All kids do this! "

" The dog makes this image for me. Mom is carrying on about her business, tending to the little one and the dog just wants some attention.   "

" I love how the girl is dressed up in this beautiful dress, running freely and then big brother is hanging from the tree. It’s just too funny. "

" I can totally relate to this image. Being a mom of little ones, this happens at my house all the time. "

" I love her expression! It’s so great when you can catch them in the act. "

" You can just tell she is having a blast swinging. I love the connection she has with the camera. "

" Newborns are just the sweetest and they make the greatest facial expressions.   "

" To me, since the boys are getting off the trampoline, it looks like it’s time to come in from playing but the girl has different plans! "

And the winner is...

"  I chose this as the winner because for me, it’s as real as it gets! I love how no one is camera aware. I really like that you can see the motion of the girl getting on the bus. The little boy seems to be taking his sweet time and then there is the girl on the corner just waiting. It is just all around great.  "

Congratulations everyone!
These are all so wonderful! Hope you have a wonderful week!
